Anna M. Fitzpatrick is Managing Editor of a new journal for innovation in venture capital, titled the Kauffman Fellows Report. Her recent edited books include So What? Now What? The Anthropology of Consciousness Responds to a World in Crisis (Cambridge Scholars, 2009), A Better Way to Die: Choice and Control at the End of Life (Penguin, 2010; Doubleday, 2010), and Mirrors of Distortion: Western Delusions, African Reality (forthcoming). She graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University with a degree in Arabic and Russian.
Since 2004, Anna has been using her 18 years as a writing instructor and editor on three continents to good effect as Principal of Together Editing. She specializes in teaching through editing, so that each client gains proficiency as a writer through the process of polishing their work, and has extensive experience working with non-native speakers and non-traditional learners. In addition to her teaching and work with private business clients, Anna helps dozens of PhD students a year navigate the dissertation process to a successful conclusion, bringing their research to the world in clear, accessible language.
Anna’s goal is to give the best possible voice to each client’s ideas, in alignment with the client’s own unique writing style and aims for the work. Clients gain a better understanding of how their writing is understood by readers, so that their self-editing ability improves through the process. Most clients eventually reach the point where they no longer need an editor—the best success of Together Editing.
