The Together Editing Process

Prospective clients often want to know what exactly the process will be, but the truth is that Anna’s specialty is in adapting to the unique and particular needs of each client. So, the process will be whatever is most useful for that client in that particular moment, to meet the goals for that project. This personalized service and relationship are the hallmark of Together Editing.

In general, most clients work with Anna through email, telephone, and Skype. The client simply emails the file as a Word (or other Office) document. Anna reviews the file and makes editing recommendations using the Track Changes and Comments features of Word; instructions in using those features are returned along with the edited file. Once the client has reviewed the file, a telephone or skype meeting is arranged to discuss any questions that remain. This back-and-forth process can continue through several iterations, until the writing is fully polished.

When necessary or preferred, in-person meetings can be arranged at the Palo Alto office. Anna will also travel to the client, with the understanding that travel time is billed at the same rate. As an example of the variety of possibilities, certain clients have benefitted most from working in parallel with Anna, talking and writing and collaborating together to create the draft that is later edited by Anna. Together, Anna and the client do whatever is most helpful so the client can progress as a writer and meet their needs of the moment.
